This is another mashup from MDP. It combines "Thank You" (a Sly Stone cover) off of Darrell Lombard and LOMBARD ST's "ANTHOLOGY V2" album, and "The Dope Song or You Need Me" from Darrell's G8 (Great 8) studio album released in late 2024.
It incorporates some great vocal stabs, horn and guitar and bass stabs, rhythms and more. It's a cool trip and a BIG Tribute to some of the Northwest's very best.
"ANTHOLOGY V1" was also released last year. "ANTHOLOGY V2" will be coming out soon in for Summer 2025. You don't want to miss these.
Enjoy!

The ANTHOLOGY V1 & V2 Collection are two groups of various selected performances pulled of real tape from MDP vast vault of music. These were all pulled off of real tape and cleaned up for your enjoyment. Some of this stuff goes back over 50 years. More Drive Productions mission is to bring it's listeners current on the story of Darrell and his gifted group of artists and friends in terms of what they accomplished collectively. This was a time when Seattle was not in t radar of the rest of the world when it came to R & B. Those who were talented and unmilling to leave the city and state to find traction for their music, were somewhat stuck in a limbo of unrecognition and gratification. But that did not mean they didn't exist. The you the consumer now have the opportunity to enjoy these two groups of classics and originals never heard before by most.
