Once upon a time long ago there was a great band from an Emerald City known as Seattle, WA. The band was called LOMBARD STREET. Which featured a NW Great sensation named Darrell Lombard, hence the band name. But the name was and is even today, a unique street popular in San Francisco known for its hills and crooked winding turns. Much like the lives of the music greats from their area, Seattle was a very trying place to work and to build a brand as it was not recognized by the masses. LOMBARD STREET was a symbol of the bands own plight and for anyone fighting that fight.
Darrell Lombard, and his son David were sifting through archives of old reels from various bands from the late 60’s to the early 80’s that Darrell had been an intricate part of, before they would become obsolete. The live music from his NW band STREAMS stood out of their last night performing at the new Black Angus Lounge, in Everett Washington. This was prior to the band touring the Black Angus Circuit with other locations in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, British Columbia, and Alberta, to name a few. A true gem...
One day in 1984 Darrell Lombard was laying down a funky groove in his music studio when his son David Lombard came in and asked his father, “Why Do You Walk Like That?” They both laughed and David went on to explain the different mixed messages that can transpire without saying a thing when a woman walks by.
Thus, this fun song may have a few scenarios that perhaps you could relate to today. An earlier version of this song was released on their album Drive, in 2000, through some local NW outlets making this a classic. But it was never officially released nationally or worldwide until today.
"One Time," was written in 2005, but never released. This revised Standard Cut simply has the extended intro. Their natural detriment for some listeners is candy for fellow musicians and connoisseurs who preference more music content when longer intros and solos tend to happen. Most listeners don't have the patience or feel those things as much. So they are mindful of this going forward.
This song features Darrell's nephew Randy Lombard who is a gifted vocalist and guitar player. Darrell wrote this song for Randy, who sings lead vocal. Darrell performed and produced the song. Darrell and David added some vocal candy as well. The featured guitarist is Mr. Keith Bystrom, performing some fantastic blues play as only he can. Keith is a longtime friend and a former band member of Darrell's. He has an array of music content that will be featured on our website. Enjoy!

We are going through challenging times today politically and spiritually. This is one of two songs in Darrell and David's collection that can really hit home today. Give both of these a listen. Let them inspire you to make the necessary adjustments to heal our nation so that we can continue to inspire other nations and to assist with making our world a better place.
But first we need to take pride in our planet, and it's uniqueness to be able to contain all people and life as we know it. Even, today as far as we can see, we still have not found anything like what we have here on our planet. "It's OUR World," until it isn't. Let's come together for the betterment of us all. Before we can't. Enjoy!

But first we need to recognize that "This Distortion Needs Tuning." It really does... Enjoy!
This is a new edit by David Lombard to bring the song closer to mainstream radio and media play guidelines, although it still reaches just over 5 minutes. The original is over 8 minutes. This is truly a beautiful and soulful spiritual song written on behalf of Darrell & Lawrence's mother, Lucille Lombard-Douroux, who passed. Lucille may have been the first to establish a New Orleans styled praise choir and music team in the catholic church in the NW and beyond. She led with her superior and heartfelt piano playing.
This was on a small run of CDs with a DJ mix as a 2nd selection. These were gifted to friends and family and soon to be shared with the world.
Paul Bradley (Skeeter), joined Darrell Lombard on this collaboration to add some beautiful saxophone candy and some editing and mixing work on the original DJ Mix that was selection 2 on this singles original production in 2000. Skeeter has since passed on along with Lawrence Lombard who wrote the lyrics and the song concept to originally honor their mother.
They would be honored to know that their song is soon to be shared world wide to help brighten the day for anyone who is blessed enough to hear the song and receive it's message. Enjoy!
Both albums "DRIVE and "SHADES OF BLUE," are albums built for long rides on the road. This song fits that narrative completely. We believe this is a song that has universal commercial power. We hope you think so too. It will be available for streaming soon. Enjoy!
