Originally MDP stood for "Master Devotion Productions." It had a business ring as to "Master," something is to finish what you start at the highest level. It also has a religious connotation that is faith based. MDP today stands for More Drive Productions, as we have a relentless “drive” to persevere. Never give up. As Darrell would say it, “you’ve got to keep on keepin on.”
This was a business initially established for the distribution of its current music being mixed and produced at that time in 1998. It was created by David & Darrell Lombard in Seattle, WA and the late Paul “Skeeter” Bradley of Spokane, WA. Today they are using this platform to share Darrell Lombard's previous work and history, as well their work collectively in recent history. Primarily because it is important NW History and quality music you the connoisseur have never heard.
The world has a right to know, and Darrell’s music may just move you. Just like it has moved many others who were privileged enough to witness some of his performances and work in person primarily here in the NW or in studio.

Their first single was called “Please Stop Your Crying.” 1,500 CDs were pressed into production featuring that song and a clever DJ mix on side B created by Skeeter. Skeeter was featured on this single. He was an established and very talented saxophone player who David Lombard found in Spokane, who wanted to collaborate on this song as well as align with David and Darrell for more to come.
The lyrics and song concept for "Please Stop Your Crying" was originally written by Darrell’s brother Lawrence Lombard. Darrell and Lawrence brought the song to light and became a tribute to their mother Lucille Lombard at her Celebration of Life services in Seattle, where those who attended were given a free CD.
This song also became a tribute to Paul Bradely as well who had tragically passed heroically saving his daughters life.
Early in 2000, "Please Stop Your Crying" was featured on Darrell & David’s CD called Drive, an album packed with 15 great songs selected from a collection of recordings Darrell had written and recorded over the years. David was featured on two songs with Darrell called "Why Do You Walk Like That?" and "Mountains."
"Why Do You Walk Like That?," was the 2nd generation of this song recorded in the late 90's.
"Why Do You Walk Like That?," is song 8 featured on the album. This is the 2nd Generation of this song that was recorded in the late 90's. It was then mixed and produced together by Darrell and David Lombard back in the year 2000 and featured on their copyrighted CD called Drive.
This was a test run of approximately 1000 CD’s, on an album never officially released due to the great stock market crash, also in 2000, which lead to some life challenges and setbacks. Initially they had established some local marketing traction through outlets like Tower Records and Silver Platters, to name a few.
On DRIVE they ran this song at a slightly faster speed and tempo than it was originally recorded for dancing. The motivation behind the recent push to refresh, update and release this song, is primarily to bring attention to Darrell’s overall body of previous work and his history. All while introducing this fun gem with a topic that has been current and popular today.
In the end the hope is that this may lead to public awareness that may help to cement Darrell, along with his band of fellow talented musicians, into documented history by also revealing a portion of their collaborated work as his story unfolds.
Why this song now? The “Walk Like That” theme has been prominent in music and social media venues in recent years with selections like Poppa Hunna – Adderall (Corvette Corvetta TikTok) “why you walk like that, why you talk like that,” “Walk Like That – Brabo Gator (2022), “Walk It Talk It – Migos (2018),” Walk Like That – Hurricane (2007) and many more.
Their song is somewhat timeless and an original take that is copyrighted. David's story is a song originally about a disposition often taken by some women and men that is often confusing, hypocritical, and comical.
This is a story about random scenarios from a man’s perspective referring to some challenging social situations and potential interactions. It is meant to shed light, and bridge gaps. It is written to be clean, real, and fun. This was also conducive to the time this song was originally written.
We prefer to inform those who don’t know how this song came to be. That is the intent behind releasing this music selection behind the video. It creates a much needed and fair awareness for future creators and connoisseurs who may like to know.
At MDP HUB, we intend to share and make Darrell Lombard's archive of diverse music selsections available for your listening enjoyment.
"Deeper Shade of Blue" was the cover song featured on the album "SHADES OF BLUE." This this is a 3rd rendition of this song originally written by Darrell in the 1970's. This album was another massive music collection and a sequel to Darrell Lombard's "DRIVE," album and a tribute to Elizabeth Cooper, Darrell's wife who passed suddenly from lung cancer in 2004. Also, Jason Webb and Brandi Marvin produced the video in studio in 2005. Jason tragically passed end of 2021. We also dedicate this release to him and Brandi for their love and support on this project.
Here is a music video and tribute to Elizabeth Cooper, Darrell's wife. This was a collaboration with Jason Webb and Brandi Marvin of Fog City Productions, who shot and directed the video footage in 2006.
Toward the late summer of 2000, More Drive Productions Inc (MDPI) paired up with local NW record stores and outlets, and with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), in preparation for a national press release for their album “DRIVE.” MDPI hosted a fundraiser at Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA, to help raise funds and awareness for their cause. They donated promo merchandise such as posters, t-shirts, and hats.
In March of 2000, they created this 30 second radio and marketing soundbite in front of their theme song “Mountains,” to promote their label and to do their part to assist with lowering the alarming growing trend of alcohol-related accidents and fatalities during that time. Soon afterward the stock market crash of 2000 set them back.

Fun fact: Before Rick Fisher had gotten into the Mastering side of music production with his business RFI, he paired up as a sound roadie for the Steve Miller band during their Platinum Album tour called "Fly Like and Eagle. Rick has his own personal platinum album as well for being a part of their success. Cool stuff!
